Still in Love With the Music Three months ago, I stood a few feet from Elvin Bishop and watched his hands. Not his face. His hands. Because that is where the whole story was, in the way those fingers found the strings like they had been looking for it their whole lives, pulling riffs and shimmering overtones out of the guitar as though the instrument were simply a continuation of the same nervous system that had been thinking in music for sixty years.
